Monthly Gospel Jam Session (6:30 pm)
Come out to the Monthly Jam Session on the 3rd Friday of every month. People come from all around to listen to steel guitar, banjo, saxophone, drums, guitar, piano, trumpet, accordion, and a ventriloquist. All are welcome to attend. Snacks are provided after the service.

According to the American Cancer Society, melanoma rates are on the rise and will account for more than 75,000 cases of skin cancer in 2012.
Within the past 35 years, Soderstrom has seen over 25,000 patients during their free skin cancer screenings, checking for atypical spots and changing moles. Jeremiah Sportsmen, a local Christian Sportsmen Ministry, is hosting it's annual Family Sportsman day, at Oak Ridge Sportsman's Club, 1301 Weishaupt Rd., Mackinaw, IL.
Youth of all ages and families will have an opportunity to experience and learn archery, shooting, and fishing events, with expert instruction.
A safe and fun way to introduce youth to sportsmen activities.

First Lutheran Church--Old Wheels Show (10:00 am)
First Lutheran Church presents the Fourth Annual Old Wheels Show from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the church parking lots at 116 North Pleasant Street in Princeton.
Lots of vintage and antique cars, tractors, trucks, motorcycles, and other collector vehicles will be on hand for viewing. This year, the show will feature the Ford Model A and will have many to check out. There will be a train for the children to ride as well.
Pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, and soft drinks will be served between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. A bake sale and music will be featured as well.
The Old Wheels show was established as a way to reach out into the community to build fellowship with neighbors and as a way to make new friends. The church canvasses the neighborhood to invite people and address any needs they might have through the church’s prayer ministry.
Anyone with a vehicle they would like to enter in the show can call the church office.

Lutheran Early Response Teams (LERT) (2:30 pm)
Lutheran Church Charities and Living Waters Lutheran Church are providing training for Lutheran Early Response Teams (LERT) in Peoria. Should a disaster strike, these teams would be put on call and may be asked to deploy in 72 hours or less to the disaster site. This training will focus on the safety, work, and ministry of Lutherans as Early Responders.
Training includes Ministry Opportunities, Chainsaw Safety, Clean Up & Debris Removal, Trap & Patch Safety, Muck Out Training, Flood & Storm Surge Training, 3 Phases of Disaster Work, 4 Phases of Emotions, and National Credentialing.
Once trained, participants will receive a FEMA-certified vest to wear when they respond.
Participants need to be 21 years old or older. There is a cost of $20 to cover training materials and the FEMA vest.
Training will take place at Living Waters Lutheran Church (7229 N Knoxville Ave. in Peoria) from 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. with registration beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Vicki offers drawing and painting classes in Pekin for children age 7 and up and Adults of all ages. Classes are offered all year round and usually are on Tuesday and Thursday and throughout the day. Classes are great for homeschoolers.

First United Methodist Church offers a weekly Lectio Divina (Divine Reading) Bible Study at 6:45 pm in the Chapel of our 116 NE Perry building. Drawing from a selected part of scripture, the focus is on a total spiritual engagement with what God is saying in His Word. The four-fold approach involves reading the text (lectio), meditating on the text (meditatio), praying the scripture text (oratio) and comtemplating the meaning and implications of the scripture to real life as we face it today (contemplation). Acceptable items include: computers, monitors, printers, laptops, TVs, stereo equipment, cell phones, microwaves, large household appliances, and more.
Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers will be accepted for $25.
Department of Defense-approved hard drive cleansing services will be available for just $10. Secure hard drive cleansing is done off-site, and drives are not returned.

A Memorial Day Service will be held at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 2201 E. Washington St., East Peoria, to honor all those who have served and are serving in the Armed Forces.
Everyone is invited, especially those who have served in the military. Come wearing your uniform, if possible. A free picnic lunch for all will be served following the service.

Celebrate Recovery - Bloomington First Church Of The Nazarene (6:00 pm)
MONDAY NIGHTS 6:00-6:45 p.m. - Celebrate Recovery Dinner - Join us in the Gym. Good food, great prices, and even better fellowship! 7:00-8:00 p.m. - Large Group Session - Everyone meets together for a time of worship then a teaching or a testimony in the Sanctuary. There is no pre-registration or sign-ups.
Upon arrival you will be greeted and handed a bulletin to help you become acclimated. 8:00-9:00 p.m. - Open Share Groups - This is the time to break into recovery specific groups. Meet others with similar hurts, hang-ups and habits. These groups are gender specific. 8:00-9:00 p.m. - Newcomers 101 - also on Monday nights is a first time visitor's class. This is a one time meeting where you will learn more about Celebrate Recovery, hear personal mini-testimonies and ask direct questions.
If you are new to recovery or a visitor, after the Large Group session we invite you to attend this meeting. 9:00-9:30 p.m. - Solid Rock Cafe - Held after Open Share Groups. This is a great time to fellowship with others from your group. Join us for refreshments in the Gym.
Children are important to us - Monday night Celebrate Recovery childcare programs are available from 7:00-9:00 p.m. - we provide a safe environment for your kids.

Creative Arts 101 - Drawing and Painting Classes
Instructor: Vicki Berchtold
Location: Pekin
Vicki offers drawing and painting classes in Pekin for children age 7 and up and Adults of all ages. Classes are offered all year round and usually are on Tuesday and Thursday and throughout the day. Classes are great for homeschoolers.
Classes meet once a week (1 1/2 hour) for 6 weeks, and the price is very reasonable and includes supplies. The studio is a smoke free and Christian environment. The cost for a 6 week class that meets once a week and includes supplies is $60; this comes out to be $10.00 per class.

Host Families open up their homes to individuals with developmental disabilities who live with them and share life experiences as part of their family. Being a Host Family Provider is a rewarding experience that enriches the lives of both the provider and the individual. Host Families receive a per diem that is based on the individual’s needs.

•The benefits of becoming a Host Family Provider
•The requirements to become a Host Family Provider
•The application and screening process
