Join us for our first “Tractors at Church Harvest Fest” at Sand Prairie Lutheran!


The event kicks off with an OctoberFest-style meal with brats & sauerkraut along with fresh apple cider right from an apple cider press.


There will be kids’ activities, a bonfire, music and more. Bring lawn chairs if you wish.

There is no cost, but please bring a dish to share and bottles or cans of your favorite brand of rootbeer for our rootbeer tastings.

Athens Christian Church will host a Holiday Memorial Service to remember all of our loved ones who have passed away. This will be our third annual Holiday Memorial Service. 


We invite all those who attended in the past, as well as those who have recently lost a loved one, to come and share in this meaningful celebration of the people that were important in our lives.


You are encouraged to bring a flower or photo of your loved one.

Dale Park in Sterling will be transformed into Santa’s Workshop for the evening for fun photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus and a variety of children’s activities provided by local organizations.


Wander the businesses of downtown Sterling for shopping & dining specials, a variety of activities & entertainment, open houses, and refreshments.


Stroll through Light Street for fun holiday inflatables.


At 8 p.m., gather at the Library Plaza Christmas Tree (at the corner of Locust & 4th Streets) for a very special tree lighting, and watch as the Sterling Theater Tower once again glows red, white, & green for the season!

Join the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum for the newest Springfield family holiday tradition, Fun Frosty Friday! This is a FREE family event located in the beautiful Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library.


At this second annual event, take an adventure through our life-size Candy Land activities that include crafts, games and photo opportunities with a real-life Ice Princess! Andrew’s Family Magic is back by popular demand and will hold two performances, 10:15 and 12:00. The Unique Twist will be on hand to create balloon art and face painting by June Bugs Facepainting will complete your festive look! We will have a delectable hot cocoa bar, Candy Land BINGO, and activities with planes, trains and automobiles. After Santa’s magical appearance, send him a secret, coded message and have your picture taken with him! The festivities are sure to be engaging for all members of your family and will culminate with a balloon drop, with prizes, at 12:55.


All participants at Fun Frosty Friday will receive a discounted admission coupon to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, redeemable only on Friday, November 25, 2016 for “Buy One Get One Free” to view our newest exhibit ‘Rare and Rarely Seen,’ unique objects from our collection on display in the Illinois Gallery. The exhibit is only showing for a limited time and includes wooden shoes from Dachau Concentration Camp, a Little Black Dress owned by Marilyn Monroe, a Hamlet costume work by Edwin Booth and much much more.

Come do all your Christmas shopping in one spot! We'll have over 40 vendors! All money raised will benefit the Georgetown Middle School Band Program.


We will serve breakfast and have pictures with Santa from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00.


Lunch is from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The first-in-the-nation nativity scene inside of a U.S. State Capitol will be launched, for its 9th consecutive year, with a special celebration service!


Music will be led by the Ferraro and Hogan families, with a special wreath dedication to first responders and the U.S. military by chaplain Steve Holden of the U.S. Emergency Chaplain Corps and Wreaths Across America.


Special messages from the Thomas More Society of Chicago and local pastors.
