Trinity Lutheran Church will host an "Open Church" event.  Visitors are invited to enter the church from the Monroe Street entrance where greeters will have handouts available that explains the history, artwork and architecture of historic Trinity Lutheran Church.

June 6th is the first in a series of five monthly "Open Church" events to be held the first Saturday of the month, June through October, during the run of DSI's Old Capitol Farmers Market.  Other dates will be July 4th, August 1st, September 5th, and October 3rd.

Trinity Lutheran Church is located in downtown Springfield, across the street from the Illinois State Library and the State Capitol. The back of the church faces Broadway, which is near Downtown Spingfield, Inc.'s (DSI) Old Capitol Farmers Market.

Trinity recently hosted "Open Church" tours during the 150th Lincoln Funeral Re-enactment on May 2nd and DSI's Upper Story Tour on May 7th. Organizers for this church event decided to provide additional opportunities for Springfield residents and visitors to the area to view the church.
