Is it possible to kick the stubborn habit and change your life? Is it really possible to ditch the drugs, pornography and alcohol?  The answer is: YES.  It can be done. There is real, genuine freedom to be found from your addictions. You can live a life apart from your addictions.

At the Reformer's Unanimous Addictions Program, we're not interested in helping you manage the symptoms of your addiction. Our desire is to deal with the root cause of the issue and give you complete and total freedom from the dependency and cravings of your problem.

This is not a Twelve-Step Program. This is a faith-based, Christ-centered Addictions Program. We use time-tested Biblical principles to guide you to freedom and give you a new life apart from your addicions. If you've tried everything else; if you've failed to quit dozens of times in the past, we can help you.

Our local chapter meets Friday evenings at the Bloomington Baptist Church. There will be testimonies of victory, small-group counseling and explanations from God's Word about how to kick our stubborn habits.

A Walk to Remember (Sat. Oct 4, 2014 10:00 am)

A Walk to Remember honors babies who have died due to pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or infant death.

This year’s A Walk to Remember will be held at the Washington Park playground picnic shelter. The Springfield Walk takes place in October, which is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month, and commemorates the lives of babies lost due to miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant death. Proceeds from the Walk benefit Share Pregnancy and Infant Loss, Inc. (started in Springfield, Illinois) and the Springfield Angel of Hope, NFP.

Parents, families, and friends are invited to walk in memory of their child or children. A memorial ceremony precedes the approximate two-mile walk, during which parents may place a pinwheel lawn ornament in a memorial “garden” when their baby’s name(s) is read. A balloon release ends the ceremony. The ceremony is designed to remember each life, no matter how long or short.

By gathering together to walk for babies gone but not forgotten, A Walk to Remember keeps their memories alive and offers support to grieving parents, families, and friends. Whether marking a recent loss, or one that occurred several years ago, parents, families, and friends are encouraged to come walk for the steps their babies will never take.

Participants may register the day of the Walk, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Cost to participate in the Walk is $10, which includes a pinwheel lawn ornament and a program. T-shirts with the commemorated babies’ names listed on the back may be purchased for an additional $10 each.

The first Springfield A Walk to Remember was held at the Washington Park picnic shelter in October 2001. Since then, the Walk has continued to provide support for grieving families as it recognizes the babies they hold so dear to their hearts.

GriefShare, a 13-week grief recovery program, will be held Tuesdays this fall.

GriefShare is a special grief recovery seminar and support group.  GriefShare is built around three components: video seminar, a support group, and a workbook.  This program provides tools to guide participants in sorting through their thoughts and emotions  and in learning what the Bible says about grief-related topics.  All three components are essential for promoting healing.

Grief is the cost of loving someone.  It is inevitable that during such a loss we would be deeply impacted, shocked, or wounded by it.  Grief is the manner in which we work through this loss.  Grief recovery is not simply feeling better, but the ability to find joy in life.  It is to treasure the memory of loved ones, to miss them and to live better because of the time in your life that you spent with them.

For more information or to pre-register for the fall, contact Joleen by phone, email, or visit the GriefShare website.
