www.peoriasharewalk.com The Peoria Walk for Remembrance & Hope was started in 2005 by Michelle DellaValle, Ashley Flanagan, and Sarah Oakford. Each of these women suffered the loss of a child and through those losses grew a friendship and a bond. All 3 of us know well the paint that such a loss can bring. We wanted to provide a way for families to gather and remember and honor the lives of our children who have died too soon. Our children have died at all ages from many different causes, but our love for our children unites us. Your pain becomes my pain just as your hope becomes my hope. We come together from all walks of life. We are young and we are old. Some of us are far along in our grief but other still feel a grief so fresh and so intensely painful that they feel helpless and see no hope. Some of us have found our faith to be a source of strength; some of us are struggling to find answers. Some of us are angry; others radiate an inner peace. But whatever pain we bring to this gathering it is pain we will share just as we share with each other our love for our children. I encourage you to not let this day be consumed by grief, but to be a day of joy as we celebrate the existence of each and every one of these children. All of whom have touched our hearts and have helped mold us into who we are today. All of the money we raise at this event will go to support Share. The mission of Share is to serve those who are touched by the tragic death of a baby through pregnancy loss, still birth, or early infant death. They offer support to the grieving parents at the time of the death of the baby as well as offering support, education and resources to caregivers and those in a supportive role. Locally, the ladies who run share do an excellent job of providing a support group, newsletter, hand-made gowns for babies who have died and stuffed animals for the siblings. Since 1 out of 4 pregnancies ends in a loss this is a big part of our community. We invite you to share our site with your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Anyone who has been touched by the loss of a child is invited to participate in our event. It is our goal to reach out to as many families as possible to allow them a place to be surrounded by those who understand and remember with them. Thank you. Michelle, Ashley, Sarah Myself, Mallorie, submitting this I have given my name and email below by the name/email starred fields of info that will not be made public. I only participate in this event I do not help organize it. I Just want to reach more families with this who don't know about it so they can also participate. THank you!
