Camp Compass, a summer program for homeless and low-income elementary students in Springfield, is in the running for a $25,000 grant from State Farm. Camp Compass is an academic and enrichment-based summer program, designed to prevent summer learning loss and close the achievement gap.

 

You can help by voting for "Close the Achievement Gap" on Facebook through the State Farm Neighborhood Assist platform. Each of the top 40 causes in the nation will receive $25,000. Anyone with a Facebook account can vote every day (up to 10 votes). The money will provide transportation to/from Camp Compass for needy students.

The mission of Karee' Exclusive's Beauty & Talent Competitions is to help provide scholarships to teenage girls and young women who aspire to go to college, build teenage girls & young women's confidence & self-esteem, try to help prevent teenage pregnancy and other teenage peer pressure issues by giving teenage girls & young women something positive, inspiring, and motivational to do, look forward to, and be a part of.

The Warrior Golf Classic raises money to provide financial assistance to families that want to enroll their children in Faith Baptist Christian School of Pekin but are unable to afford full tuition payments.

 

Your participation in the Warrior Golf Classic will treat you to an afternoon of golf, opportunities for prizes, a silent auction and an awards banquet featuring a delicious prime rib dinner. All of this for just $100/person.

 

The tournament features 18 holes of golf in a four-man, best ball, shotgun start format at Sunset Hills Golf Club - 1620 Summit Dr., Pekin.

 

There is also a banquet/silent auction only option as well for $35. The banquet will be held at 6:00 PM in the Fireside Room of Faith Baptist Church and Christian School - 1501 Howard Ct., Pekin.

Chicks N Chocolate is an annual fundraiser for our not-for-profit organization, The Elizabeth Ann Seton Program. We are a faith based organization that works with pregnant and parenting women.

 

This event consists of women, lots of chocolate, live entertainment, an all-women's sand volleyball tournament, 35 vendors and much more!

 

The event starts at 4:00 p.m. and vendors will be available from 4:00-7:00 p.m. There will be live music by Side Effect until 10:00 p.m.

 

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. The fee to get in includes all the chocolates one cares to eat, one of thirty five raffle items, and live entertainment.

Join us for the annual Race with your Heart Walk/Race! This is a 10K, 4 mile run, and 2 mile walk. All proceeds will go to Heart house, a homeless shelter and safe haven for victims of domestic abuse.

 

Come enjoy free massages, home-baked cookies, door prize drawings and a family friendly post-race party.

 

Entry Fees are $20.00 if registered by May 6th and $25.00 if registered after May 6th. Registration includes one custom T-shirt (guaranteed to preregistered participants), family fun and free continental breakfast!

Our church is holding its 8th Annual Neighborhood Connection and 5k Twilight Run/Walk. It is held at Springfield First Church of the Nazarene, 1 mile north of Cracker Barrel. For information, please call.

All proceeds from the 5k will go to help offset the medical expenses of Illyania Rocha. Illyania is a 4th grader at Chatham Elementary who was severely injured in a dog attack in April. Please Google Illyania Rocha and read her story in the Illinois Times.

Princeton Christian Academy will host the Eagle Run 5K Run/Walk & 10K Run at Zearing Park in Princeton.
