Luis had this to say about his wife, Odemaris: What makes her so special is that she’s had epilepsy since she was 12 years old. No matter how bad she feels… she is always smiling and acts like nothing is happening. She never misses a day at work or school – because she goes to school too – she wants to be an example for our kids so they see mami working hard and studying hoping to get a degree. She is a social worker and works with families with low income. She is very compassionate, and she is the light for a lot of families. We live check by check, but she doesn’t care. If somebody needs something, she looks for a way to try to help. I would like to pamper her and give her back a little bit of what she truly always gives – LOVE.
Hadassah wrote this about her adoptive mom, Elaine: When I was 11 years old, I got taken away from my mom and taken into an orphanage. Elaine was a missionary in Brazil, she worked at an orphanage, she met me, and she says that she was in love with me since the moment she put her eyes on me. Elaine ended up adopting me when I was 12. She has sacrificed so much for me, she gave me hope, she taught me how to have faith, but most important, she told me about Jesus. Today I am 18 years old, and I am loved by the woman who gave me a new life, new name, which is Hadassah, who was also an orphan. She deserves everything and much more. She has 7 kids and no time for herself. I just want her to have a week for her – just her.
Here’s what Olivia shared about her mom, Vikki: My mother deserves to be spoiled because she has been my only example of Christ. She has always had my back, believing and praying one day I would change my life and live for Christ. Just a few months ago, at age 28, I was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer that had metastasized to my spine, hips, and some ribs. She immediately got a prayer team together for me. On days I feel like doing nothing, she does everything with my appointment, my medication, and helping with my children. When I am sad, she drops everything to be at my house within minutes to pray with me. She has encouraged me so much that I have started going to her church, and I have completely changed my life all because of her.
Voting ends at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, and the winner will be announced at 7:41 a.m. That person will be spoiled with something they enjoy this Mother’s Day! Prizes will also be awarded to the runners-up.
