Amy Kapraun

It takes a special person to be a kindergarten teacher. And that is exactly what Mrs. Kapraun is. While teaching for over 20 years in Peoria Public Schools, she has spent the last 10 years teaching kindergartners. Mrs. Kapraun is kind and compassionate, yet runs a tight ship. She explains her expectations the first few weeks so that her classroom runs reasonably well. She had a recent year where she started with 27 students, which lasted into October. Last year, she started with only 12 students, so she received kids from various other schools. She has had quite a few challenges, yet handles it with grace and does an excellent job teaching those young minds. She truly goes above and beyond what is expected. She gets to know her students and their parents. And the parents love her. Mrs. Kapraun spends a lot of her own money on student supplies and classroom essentials. She is very deserving of the gift card as well as prayers for an incredible year.
