God is Doing Something New!

How are you feeling about a new year? Are you hopeful that things will get better this year? Do you have any plans and dreams that you hope will come to fruition? Or do you look out at the months ahead and wonder if it will only be a repeat of last year?

The last year has taught all of us that our plans only go so far! There are so many things that are out of our control, and then we often find it difficult to make good on what we want to accomplish. It’s easy to become discouraged when all you see is more of the same, both in ourselves and the world around us.

No matter what 2021 brings, God wants to do something new in you! Even when we can’t see it, God is always at work, and He is not done with us yet! Our lives should be marked by God growing us in new ways, year after year. We never arrive, right? We only hope that each new year helps us become more and more like Christ. That can happen any year regardless of what is happening in this world!

What new things do you want God to do in you in 2021? Is there something new you need to surrender to Him? Do you need a new perspective?

Are there new ways you want to serve others or build His kingdom? How do you need God to renew your mind?

Whether it’s a new year or just a new morning, His mercies are always new. God is so faithful, and His plans for us are good. We can live in expectation of the new things He will do in our hearts and lives this year!

Ephesians 4:22-24 … to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Lamentations 3:22-24 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
