When we look back at 2020 and all the weirdness we’ve had to endure, do you ever wonder how our kids will reflect on this year? What are they learning from living in this pandemic-centered world?
One thing's for sure, they’ve had a great primer on infectious disease. We all understand more about viruses than we ever cared to know! These microscopic particles have managed to single-handedly turn our world upside down. As a result, we've had to teach our kids how to fight this invisible enemy: wash your hands, wipe surfaces, stay home when you’re sick, wear a mask, keep your distance.
But coronavirus isn’t the only thing that your kids can catch from being in close contact with others. Attitudes, behaviors, and ideas are just as contagious.
Have you ever noticed that? If you start hanging out with someone with a certain attitude about something, that you find yourself thinking the same things? You start talking the same way? Our kids are under so much more pressure to conform to what they hear and see around them.
A mask can protect their mouth and nose, but what is going in their eyes and ears? What is getting through to their hearts? Is it building them up in God’s truth or tearing them down through lies? It’s so important to teach our kids how to guard their hearts and watch what is influencing them. Who are they hanging out with, what do they listen to, what shows are they watching?

Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” -1 Corinthians 15:33
Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. -Proverbs 13:20
That’s where you can trust WCIC to be a good influence in their lives.
We’re committed to sharing the truth that you want to rub off on your kids: God loves you and has a plan for your life. God’s not done with you. There is always hope when you trust in Jesus. Your life matters to the One who created you. Love God, and love others. Kindness matters.
Have you had the joy of hearing your kids sing along in the backseat when WCIC is playing? It’s a great feeling to know that those truths are making a way into their hearts. Especially when they sing lyrics taken right from Scripture: For God so loved/The world that He gave us/His one and only/Son to save us/Whoever believes in Him/Will live forever/
