You will be assigned a table number before the event, with those buying their tickets first being seated closer to the stage. If you'd like to sit with another couple (or couples) who are attending, please note your request on the form when you register. We will do our best to honor all seating requests, but requests made after registration closes might not be able to be accommodated. Metamora will have tables of eight; Springfield will have tables of ten.
As long as you've registered and received a confirmation email, your name will be on a list at the door. No need to bring anything with you.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and beverages and hors d'oeuvres will be available. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. Please allow enough time for parking and check in so you can be in your seats by that time.
There will be buffet dinners at both locations. At Metamora Fields, you'll have your choice of pot roast or tomato basil grilled chicken. At The Inn at 835, there will be spinach & cream cheese stuffed chicken breast or sliced sirloin of beef. If you have further questions about the menu, you can email Jessie. We will do our best to accommodate special dietary needs but unfortunately cannot make any guarantees.
Please arrange a sitter for the evening. This is meant to be a special night for just Mom and Dad.
This is a semi-formal event. Most people dress as they would if going to a wedding or nice restaurant. However, there is no dress code, as we want everyone to be comfortable.
While it's WCIC's desire that everyone who registers is able to attend, understandably plans sometimes change. However, once you buy a couple's ticket, WCIC makes a commitment with the venues to purchase your meals. So, while you may transfer your registration if you are no longer able to attend, refunds are not able to be offered. If you don't know of anyone you can transfer your registration to, you may donate it back to WCIC, and the station will work to offer it to a couple who was not able to purchase a ticket.
Every effort will be made so the events go on as planned. If the guest speakers and waitstaff are present and able to proceed with the evening, the events will still happen. Each couple will need to make whatever decision they are comfortable with regarding their own safety on the roads. However, if the events go on as planned, no refunds will be issued (please see refund policy). If an event is cancelled, you will be notified by email or phone. Every effort will be made to reschedule, and your ticket will still be good for the rescheduled event. More details will follow should this occur.
The radio station holds the position that the Biblical definition of marriage is a God-ordained union between a man and a woman (see Matthew 19:4,5). The content of the evening will be based on this understanding. It's possible that a same-sex couple could purchase a registration to the Marriage Celebration. Denying participation is something a religious organization cannot legally do. If this should occur, it's our desire to extend a welcome, accepting them as individuals bearing the image of God and treating them with kindness, while at the same time holding firm in what we stand for as an organization.
