There’s something you need to know about me. I’m always 30 seconds away from crying. Good, bad, heartfelt, or gut-wrenching, I’m probably going to be crying, and if it’s a GOD story, then I’m for sure going for the tissues.
Now that that's out of the way, Hi!! I’m Chris, and it’s an honor to get to spend our mornings together. Great music, coffee, God’s word, coffee, laughter, coffee, encouragement for your day, and coffee are all ingredients for us to be great friends! (I really do love coffee.) From the moment our family came to Peoria, we truly felt welcomed. We felt, well you know how it feels to go to your good friends’ house and know you're with "your" people? That’s how we felt.
Speaking of my family, Melinda and I have been married for 26 years in December. We have five children, but I’m sure if you ask her, she’d count me as the sixth child. It’s an incredible blessing to be parents to Kaelyn, Trysten, Ewan, Declan, and Ryen. We have two doggos and a few fish. (I don’t ever know exactly how many we have at a given time.)
Mel and I have a heart for God-honoring marriages and serving others. I’m a former worship leader, and we spent nine years in Colorado on staff leading worship. We love to laugh, have fun, talk about the hard things, and enjoy this incredible journey that God has us on.
We’re going to be counting on you to help us find the secrets of central Illinois. Places to eat, hike, and the unique things to do.
You probably have those moments in your life where you look back and go, "Wow! God is amazing!" That's exactly what I'm thinking as I write this little bit about us. God IS amazing! I wasn’t expecting this, but I’m so glad we heard God’s call and that we’re here with you.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I LOVE Star Wars… like a lot. I mean… A LOT! Even more than coffee.
