Ever wonder what happens to Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes after they are collected? On this mission project trip, you will inspect, sort, and ship over 10,000 shoeboxes in just one weekend.
The trip departs Friday, Dec 1 at 7 a.m. from Northwoods Church and returns Sunday, Dec 3 at 7 p.m. to Northwoods Church.\
Included: Peoria Charter Bus transportation, two nights in a hotel with breakfast, dinner on Friday, lunch on Saturday, transportation to Mall of America for your Saturday night dinner and shopping.
Cost: $300 per person, Double occupancy (Mission Trip Tax Deduction)
Trip Sponsors: Northwoods Community Church and the OCC Central Illinois Area Team.

Training for Tots (Sat. Dec 2, 2017 8:00 am - 2:00 pm)
In an effort to raise money for Toys for Tots, Titan Fitness in Washington will be hosting a marathon of fitness classes.
There will be a 30-minute preview of all of our fitness classes, a raffle, and supplements and samples from a few local vendors. Enjoy one of our classes or stay for hours of sweat and fun by trying all 10!The grand prize raffle drawing will win a 1-year gym membership.
To help support our event, McMahon's Pints and Plates will be donating 10% of their food sales from 3pm-6pm. Work up a sweat and enjoy a tasty meal afterwards...all for a great cause!
The cost will be $10 or a $10 toy to donate to Toys for Tots. 100% of profits will go to benefit Toys for Tots.

Come to the First Mennonite Concert! Doors will be open one half-hour before the concert! Tickets are $15 per adult and $5 per every child age 12 and under! Tickets can be purchased at the door.
Bells in Motion is a progressive hand-bell ensemble from Springfield, IL. Formed in 1997, 19 members of this auditioned group came from Central Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Since their inception, they have performed at many notable venues and festivals in the US, Canada, and Europe. They combine seven octaves of bronze and aluminum hand-bells and chimes. They also use string bass, percussion, and piano to enhance the music. Their music ranges from jazz to classical, big band to blues, Broadway to rock, and sacred to original compositions. Bells in Motion also has two CD's for sale: "Sleigh Bells" and "Bronze Images." Both CD's can be purchased at the concert or are available by visiting the group's website at the link above! Reception will follow the concert in the fellowship hall at the church.

A Night in Bethlehem is a joyful outreach event that we are hosting to make the Christmas season “come alive” for our community.
Imagine entering the ancient city of Bethlehem, being counted in the census, exploring an unforgettable marketplace, tasting authentic foods, making crafts, visiting with Joseph and Mary as they hold their newborn baby!
It usually takes about an hour to see everything. This event is free and suitable for all ages.
The tax collector will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to the local food pantry.
Zion Out Loud: Christmas Carol Sing Along (Fri. Dec 8, 2017 7:00 pm)
Bring your family, invite your friends and come sing your hearts out with us. We are so excited to announce that our second Zion Out Loud event is a Christmas carol singalong!
Partnered with Ephiphany Church, we’ll sing some of our favorite Christmas carols like "Joy to the World", "Silent Night", "Jingle Bells" and many others! We will be serving a special holiday drink that night, including one for the kids!
No tickets needed. Just come! All proceeds from this event will be donated directly to support the coffee farmers and Zion co-owners. Banu and Mike Hatfield have also pledged to personally match the first $500 of the night's proceeds.

Keokuk Junction Railway Co. will be operating its annual Santa Train!
Santa Claus will join Keokuk Junction Railway Co. employees and will make six stops along the KJRY's railroad line to visit children, provide railroad safety demonstrations, and to confirm their Christmas lists. Santa will arrive at each location by train and children are welcome to visit Santa aboard his caboose for no charge.

Gifting Hope Market (Sat. Dec 9, 2017 10:00 am - 4:00 pm)
The Gifting Hope Maket is an alternative of gifting,, offering hope to those in need with donations to nonprofit organizations locally and globally.
Over 25 charitable organizations will have representatives at the market to explain how they impact the community through the clients they serve.
Food and entertainment will be provided with Spotted Cow Ice Cream, along with Heaven's Popcorn and local musical artists.
So, how does it work?
- A shopper will have the opportunity to select from over 25 nonprofits
- The shopper buys the item/gift and it is given in honor of a loved one, family member, friend, etc.
- Instead of purchasing a tangible gift, their donation will be used to fund a specific need of the nonprofit they choose
- Upon purchase of the gift, the recipient will receive a card describing the gift and charity to which it was given signed by the shopper
Come join us in helping over 25 charitable organizations that will all be in one location at the same time for a special opportunity to give gifts that can truly give hope to those who need it most.

Chillicothe native Wayne Nelson of The Little River Band and his wife, Author Rhonda Nelson will be providing an evening of interactive songs and stories.
Joining Wayne and Rhonda will be are two other members of The Little River Band, Greg Hind and Chris Marion. The evening will be a combination of acoustic music with Wayne, Greg and Chris, and Rhonda sharing from her book "A Different Life", about being married to a musician.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the program begins at 7:30.

It just isn’t Christmas until you’ve experienced the Peoria Area Civic Chorale’s An American Family Christmas!
Get into the Yuletide spirit with beautiful music from classic carols like “The First Noel” and “Angels We Have Heard on High” to secular holiday favorites like “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.”
Each performance will feature the Civic Chorale, the Civic Chorale’s Youth Chorus, a performance by one of our Young Artist Competition winners and our special featured soloist for Christmas 2017, lyric soprano Shelby Jones Wehrenberg.
Tickets are $8 for students, $20 for adults, and $18 for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are available to purchase at the website or phone number above or at the door the day of the event.
