Bell Tower Dedication at Broadview Mansion- Normal

October 7 @ 4:00 pm 5:00 pm

The historic Van Leer Broadview Mansion will host a Bell Dedication Ceremony on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., inviting the community to gather as music returns to the mansion’s iconic bell tower for the first time in decades with the newly installed electric carillon.

The Broadview Mansion bell tower, located at 1301 South Fell Avenue, Normal, holds a unique distinction as the only privately-owned bell tower in the nation. Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places, the tower was originally outfitted with a carillon that rang twice daily, offering both a call to worship in the morning and a peaceful pause in the evening for students and neighbors alike.

“We are thrilled to bring the bells back to life,” said organizers of the event. “This tower has long been a symbol of heritage and community pride, and we are honored to share its music with our neighbors once again.”
Community Invitation

The Bell Dedication Ceremony is open to the public, and neighbors, alumni, and friends of Broadview Mansion are encouraged to attend this historic celebration. Guests will experience the first peals of the bells in decades, symbolizing a new chapter for the mansion and its role in the community.
