4 on 4 Volleyball Tournament!


$50 for a team of 4 with $10 for each additional person (up to 6 on a team). Must be 16 years or older to play. Each team must play with at least 1 female on the court.


Each team is guaranteed to play at least 2 matches with 2 or 3 games in a match. Games are to 15, win by 2 or whoever is winning after 10 minutes of play.


The winning team receives: a $50 gift certificate towards a Menno Haven program for each playing team member.


Menno Haven will provide lunch and snacks for team members.

Come run or walk in Lifesong for Orphans' fundraiser 5K Run/Walk or 1/2 mile Kid's run to raise funds for the expenses associated with a Safe House for young girls at risk for or already experiencing abuse in the village of Bukeka, Uganda.


LifeSong for Orphans, in partnership with Global Hands of Hope Uganda, has recently built a Safe House for 40 girls attending the Suubi ("Hope") School. Now we are trying to raise funds for the expenses associated with caring for these precious girls with four full-time "House Moms" (social workers) and other resources.


Ronnie and Ritah Nalera, directors of Global Hands of Hope, will be at the race, visiting from Uganda!


The race will be entirely on the Constitution Trail. The registration fee is $25 for the 5K and $10 for the Kid's 1/2 mile run; it includes a t-shirt for the event if you register at least 2 weeks before the run. T-shirts and post-race drinks and snacks will be provided by our sponsors.


Race bib and packet pick-up starts at 9 am the day of the race.


The Kid's Run is at 9:45 a.m. The 5K is at 10 a.m.

Four different crafts are being offered twice on October 21st, at 10 am and at 1 pm.


A crafter’s lunch is offered at noon, so it is possible to take two classes in one day. All materials are provided, for a cost of $30, which includes $5 to Elkhart Historical Society to defray costs and help offer events for the enjoyment of all.


Painting with Reneé Sisk at Horsefeathers- 10 a.m.  – leaf printing on fabric with acrylic paint. Please bring item(s) of light color, and washed if new.


Afternoon class at 1 pm- Halloween painting with cat and pumpkin in acrylic. For Additional info call 217 947 2100; Ice Dyeing class with Jamie Theobald - Learn the art of ice dyeing. You will need to bring some materials for this class, a list of which can be found on the website; Fabric Collage with Jean Tweet at Birdsong Books and Vintage. Old buttons combined with vintage lace and fabric. Bring any special items you would like to include in your masterpiece; Essential Oils Class with Susan - Morning session:  Pick your blends according to your needs. Afternoon Session: Pick your personal health choices and blends.


Crafter’s Lunch: Cup of Tomato Basil Soup and a half sandwich of turkey cheddar melt on artisan bread, served with chips and soup crackers, with coffee, tea or water.

Pekin First Church of the Nazarene (PFN) is celebrating their 90th anniversary! Past leaders and Pastors will join us for the weekend to celebrate all the Lord has done through the ministry of PFN.


On Saturday, October 21 there will be a PFN Spotlight Concert beginning at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary. Childcare for birth - 5 years is provided. A cake reception will follow the concert.


On Sunday, October 22 there will be two worship services at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.

Josh McDowell, noted Christian apologist, evangelist, and writer will be the featured speaker. He will be discussing the relevancy of the Gospel, sharing the Gospel in the 21st century, and other foundational issues.


The event begins at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5:15.

Athens Christian Church will host a concert by The Ball Brothers!


The Ball Brothers are the popular quartet which offers a mix of musical styles, melted together by tight, four-part harmony. Since their formation in 2006, the Ball Brothers have rapidly made their mark in Christian music by finding a musical balance between the old and the new for people of all ages to enjoy and worship together. Their music style and song selection is based around that blend. They have several hit songs on iTunes Christian Chart and won the 2011 Singing News “Horizon Group of the Year.” They have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Christian music.
