This event challenges participants to design, build and navigate boats made of cardboard. The crafty cardboard creations then sail (or sink) as they compete for a variety of awards including “best design”, “fastest boat” and “fastest sinker”. See website for rules and boat design info!
Who can participate?
Registration is open to all amateur boat builders – young and old! Register crews in categories of 13 and under or 14 and over. Registered teams can check in starting at Noon and the Regatta will begin at 1pm. Registration is $50 per boat*. You may fundraise in support of your boat to raise the registration fee or pay it the day of the race. Any funds raised for your boat will go to Special Olympics Illinois. The boat that raises the most funds will win the People’s Choice Award!
