Sharing hope in Jesus Christ … one song, one conversation, one heart at a time is WCIC’s passion. This happens on-air. In the community. Through social media and videos.
We hear countless stories of people experiencing life-altering breakthroughs, simply by hearing just the right song at just the right time. Or, sometimes it’s the steady wash of eternal truth, set to art through music, delivered into everyday life. Over time, unhealthy thought patterns give way to new perspectives. Lives are transformed. This is what keeps our team walking through the doors each day.
On Air in 1983
When WCIC came on the air in 1983, unemployment in Central Illinois soared near 20%. Nationally, inflation was out of control with a three year average rate around 10%. And international tensions escalated as Moscow accused President Reagan of fanning the flames of war, comparing him with Hitler. Against this backdrop of despair and unrest, a new voice emerged in Central Illinois, with a timeless message of hope. Times change; hope in Jesus is constant.

WCIC is a non-commercial, nonprofit, listener-supported ministry. As a part of the 2018 Dove Awards, the Gospel Music Association presented WCIC with their 2018 Radio Impact Award for its contribution to Contemporary Christian Music.
