I grew up in a small town with a strong, Jesus-loving family as one of four boys. We lived a half an hour from most of our friends and church, so the radio was a big part of our years growing up. WCIC was one of the stations we would listen to on our drives to and from home. I came to know Jesus many years ago over a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, according to my mom. But from early on, I knew that I wanted to share with people and see their lives grow.
Kansas City became my home when I left for college, attending a small, Christian college and eventually serving on the staff of the International House of Prayer – Kansas City. My wife and I married and lived there together. We loved it… the ministry, our circle of friends, and family we had built there over eight years.
In 2017, God began to speak to us about returning to Illinois. It was very different for us to think of coming back. Within a few brief, whirlwind weeks at the beginning of 2018, our unlisted house sold and we were suddenly landed back in Central Illinois looking for what God was doing here. We’ve been on that trek ever since.
I have come to love seeking what God has for our community and the new friendships He has brought us as we have re-entered here.
