Hi, I’m Tonya Davis. I’m a wife, mother, and a follower of Jesus. My husband, Jeremie, works at Samaritan Ministries and is also a musician playing the drums, guitar, and singing tenor. We have been married for 19 years, and we share a love of music, theatre, and Christ! We have two boys, C.J., who is 14, and Gabriel, who is 12 years old. They keep us extremely busy with various activities such as Boy Scouts and music, making us quite the musical family!
I graduated from Illinois State University with three certificates in Special Education and taught for eight years. God then moved me to teach elementary music part-time at a Christian school, where I spent five years. My favorite hobby is to participate in local community theatre with more than two decades of dramatic experience. I guess you could say I’m a bit of a drama mama!
I never IMAGINED I would work at a radio station, let alone WCIC, but God works in mysterious ways! I have been a loyal listener for years and absolutely adore the radio personalities and encouraging music. Jill Tracey has been a dear friend of mine for years, and she suggested I apply at WCIC for a front office job. After hours of conversation with former Station Manager Dave Brooks, he invited me to train to be a radio personality. In my short time at WCIC, I have had the blessing of getting to know each staff member, who all truly have a heart for God, worship, and the surrounding communities. I love serving God through my family, music, work, and community. I am so excited to be a part of the WCIC family!
Favorite Song
Oceans by Hillsong Worship. This was on repeat for HOURS while my mother was battling terminal brain cancer a few years ago. This song is not only beautiful but encouraged me to keep going and know that God was in control no matter the circumstances. It was such a comforting song for me during a time of deep grief and sorrow.
