Who We Are
Rick
My job here is literally a dream come true after first joining WCIC part-time back in 2002. I have prayed for God’s guidance and wisdom throughout the years, and He was faithful to complete what He started. I’m so glad to be here and look forward to getting to know you more. I’m excited to share stories about life together and to pursue God with you!
My wife, Melissa, and I have been married since 2003. We have five kids – Makenna, Maddie, Meadow, Reece and Macey. Melissa and I got our nicknames for each other (Honey Bee and Honey Bear) after I shared news of our engagement on the air. A listener called to tell me that Melissa meant Honey Bee in Greek. When I told Melissa and said I would call her that from now on, she decided to call me Honey Bear! I’m a lifelong Cardinals fan, who is glad to try to balance out all the Cubs fans that work at the station!
McKenna
I don’t think I could count the number of “I can’t believe this is my life!” moments I’ve had since working here. I barely dared to dream that I could actually make a job of talking with folks about God, and He has taken that very meek hope and brought me here!
My parents introduced me to Christ when I was young, and I accepted Him as my savior at five years old. However, it wasn’t until high school that I pursued an actual relationship with Him. I tried the DIY route to being a “good” Christian and can tell you myself it’s just not the move. Being honest and vulnerable with a God who loves me no matter and lends me His strength- that’s the move.
I love anything outdoors! Hiking, swimming, rock climbing, tubing, biking, skiing, skating, longboarding: if it challenges me to use my mind and body in new ways, I’m all about it! Then of course, there’s my dog, Kipper. He’s a West-Highland Terrier and my little adventure buddy who goes wherever I do- unless there’s water!

To say that Rick and McKenna are competitive is an understatement. They’re the kind of people who will debate and compete over every little thing. What they need, is a neutral third party, someone to jump in The Middle.
That’s where you come in. Every Tuesday morning Rick and McKenna play a game called The Middle. If you join them in The Middle you’ll have thirty seconds with each of them to guess as many words as you can while they give you clues. Whoever you guess more clues for wins! And no matter which one of them wins, you always win a $20 Amazon Gift Card just for playing.

It’s a hypothetical question, but your opinion is not. Join us from 7:00 to 9:00 and avoid the buzzer at all costs!!
You Can’t Beat Us
If you’ve ever joined Rick and McKenna in the mornings, you may have noticed that they’re a touch competitive. But they get tired with facing off only against each other. If you think you can take the heat, join Rick and McKenna on Thursday at 7:10 to play “You Can’t Beat US”!
If you play, you’ll get to pick who you face off against. That person will leave the room while you have your chance to answer five questions. Then whoever you picked will come back in and take their turn answering the same questions. Whoever gets more correct wins! The prize is a $20 Amazon Gift Card that rolls over every week that Rick or McKenna wins.
