Lyrics

You are not hidden
There’s never been a moment
You were forgotten
You are not hopeless
Though you have been broken
Your innocence stolen

I hear you whisper underneath your breath
I hear your SOS, your SOS

I will send out an army to find you
In the middle of the darkest night
It’s true, I will rescue you

There is no distance
That cannot be covered
Over and over
You’re not defenseless
I’ll be your shelter
I’ll be your armor

I hear you whisper underneath your breath
I hear your SOS, your SOS

I will send out an army to find you
In the middle of the darkest night
It’s true, I will rescue you
I will never stop marching to reach you
In the middle of the hardest fight
It’s true, I will rescue you

I hear the whisper underneath your breath
I hear you whisper, you have nothing left

I will send out an army to find you
In the middle of the darkest night
It’s true, I will rescue you
I will never stop marching to reach you
In the middle of the hardest fight
It’s true, I will rescue you

Oh, I will rescue you

About This Song

"I believe in every single song we decide to play. But there are some that have this supernatural ability to go even deeper than most. To truly connect on a soul level with a truth that can completely change someone's life. This is one of those songs." - Joe Buchanan

"... if He is for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31

Here's a story from someone who's life was changed by this song:

"Last October, when I was fighting for my life in the hospital, sepsis setting in and about to undergo a CT guided lung biopsy, not knowing whether I had lung cancer (as they told me was most likely) or some crazy infection or what, I laid there in this tiny holding area seconds away from the start of the surgery and literally prayed some of the words of Lauren Daigle's song, "Rescue," that I had been listening to over and over for days, as an SOS to God.

"I remember literally praying the words, "God, I need you to send out an army to find me, and fight for me, in the middle of my darkest night." I was thinking of my wife and my children that I could potentially be leaving behind soon. In that same prayer, I also reached a level of trusting God with my life that I never had before. I remember saying through tears as I laid there alone, "God I trust you, if you take me 5 minutes, 5 days, 5 months, 5 years, or 50 years from now, I trust you."

"Not 5 minutes later, everything started turning around. The radiologists instantly stopped the CT scan I was in the middle of, just before the start of the lung biopsy, because the masses in my lungs had grown so big in just 48 hours, they knew it couldn't be cancer. Relief!!! They still didn't know what it was at the time, but I began making a physical turn around from that very moment on that didn't make much sense to doctors, even in spite of the antibiotics they put me on.

"It wasn't until a few days later when I was finally released after 6 days that they discovered what it was - the incredibly, extremely rare pneumonic form of Tularemia. An infection, (who knows how I acquired), that without a specific antibiotic treatment, would have killed me (as it did another Champaign man 4 years prior after 6 days in the same hospital). In his case, they didn't discover what it was until he had passed.

"I've always credited that very prayer and this very song as the moment everything turned around for me in the hospital." - Ryan in Champaign
