“I initially started writing ‘Then Christ Came’ with a dear friend of mine named David Leonard over two years ago. For two solid days we were just trying to write anything… and were coming up with nothing. At the last minute, we figured out the chorus to this song, and that demo is actually on our most recent album inhale (exhale). But the song wasn’t done and sat unfinished for quite a while. More recently, we decided to finish the thing out with Phil Wickham and Jason Ingram and are just so excited with how it turned out. Sometimes we over complicate things trying to come up with new creative ways to sing about Jesus. But the message of this song is simple in that it’s about what I was before and then Jesus showed up and now everything has changed.
